Navigating Prague is a breeze with its world-class public transport—one ticket lets you hop between metro, trams, buses, ferries, and even the funicular. Whether you’re here for a few days or planning a longer stay, getting around is simple, affordable, and a great way to see the city like a local.
METRO: Fast, Reliable, and Citywide
The Prague Metro is the city’s backbone, with three color-coded lines—A (green), B (yellow), and C (red)—connecting all the key districts and attractions. Trains run every few minutes from early morning until after midnight, and stations are well-marked and easy to navigate.

Tip: In 2025, Českomoravská (B) and Pankrác (C) stations are closed for renovations, so check for alternate routes or replacement trams if you’re heading that way.
TRAMS: Scenic, Frequent, and Iconic
Prague’s legendary trams crisscross the city day and night, covering over 150 km and reaching most neighborhoods and sights.
- Day trams (1–26): Run from 5:00 AM to midnight, every 8–10 minutes during the day.
- Night trams (91–99): Operate from midnight to 5:00 AM, every 30 minutes, all meeting at Lazarská for easy transfers.

BUSES & TROLLEYBUSES: For Suburbs, Airport, and Late Nights
Buses fill in the gaps, connecting areas the metro and trams don’t reach—including the airport, suburbs, and business districts.
- Key airport routes:
- Trolleybus 59: Fastest connection from the airport to Nádraží Veleslavín (Metro A).
- Bus 100: Connects the airport to Zličín (Metro B).
- Airport Express (AE): Direct to Main Train Station (special fare, additional charge).

- Night buses (901–915): Keep the city moving after midnight.
- New for 2025: Electrification of some routes, with new trolleybuses coming to lines 131 and 176, making travel greener and quieter.
Tip: Bus stops are marked with yellow signs and timetables. Airport connections are fully integrated—just use a regular transport ticket (except for AE)!
FERRIES: Cross the Vltava with a View
Ferries are a fun, scenic way to cross the river, especially for cyclists and pedestrians. They’re included in your standard ticket and operate regularly from spring to autumn.
